At long last, the full trailer release of Breaking Dawn Part 2!
I didn't think I wanted to see the last movie because I didn't care so much for the last part of the book. Now I can see that I can't possibly resist it! Four years after I first heard of Twilight, read the books (3 times.... er.. maybe more!) I think I will be a sucker and go to the premiere of the Last and FINAL movie.
Anyone else tired of vampires now?
If this hadn't been dragged out for four freaking years I would be a lot more excited about this last movie. Of course, I didn't really enjoy Breaking Dawn as much as the others. As many times as I read the first 3 books, I only finished BD once. After the wedding and the honeymoon, I was pretty freaked out about the rest of the book. I felt like it was a totally different story, the characters seemed too different. It just didn't flow. Hopefully the movie will save it for me in the end.
Let me know what your thoughts are.... Breaking Dawn: Awesome? or Not Awesome?

REVIEW: Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill
Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Publish Date: November 13, 2012
Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.
It's one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she's queen of following rules and being prepared. That's why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that's also why she's chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB ("meant to be").
But this spring break, Julia's rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she's partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.
Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.
First of all, look at that COVER! I would love to have that in my room, hanging next to my bed if I were a teen! Gorgeous, and after having read it, makes it even more attractive.
I just finished this book, and had to write about it immediately! I was drawn back to the glory days of High School and our school trips. The little cliques, the obnoxious boy or 2, and the chaperones who look like they are going to have a heart-attack! Such wonderful memories!
The characters, Julia and Jason, were so well defined and fit with their age group. One so carefree, living on the edge, getting in trouble, but still able to connect with someone. One having to be the grown up, rule-follower, serious, and trying to figure out what love is.
Reading about London, just added to the fun and excitement and the perfect place for love to bloom. The setting was wonderful, with so much detail given to the surroundings, history, and places that meant something to both characters. The romance was wonderful and very different.
Once I started reading this, I didn't put it down. It was an easy read, but very enjoyable and fun. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 16.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Children's Books for the opportunity to review this book!

Temptation Review
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Book Release date: June 19, 2012
Your heart misleads you. That's what my friends and family say. But I love Noah. And he loves me. We met and fell in love in the sleepy farming community of Meadowview, while we rode our horses together through the grassy fields and in those moments in each other's arms. It should be ROSE & NOAH forever, easy. But it won't be. Because he's Amish. And I'm not.
How could I pass up a book on forbidden love? Probably because I have experienced something similar to it not only once, but twice. Not with an Amish boy of course, but with other situations. One turned out heartbreaking and the other... well, I am married to him now.
The Amish have peeked my interest because where I grew up, there were many Mennonite colonies nearby and would see them in town often. I know they aren't the same, but have similar beliefs.
Then, I began reading and couldn't put it down. The characters were very well written, where your heart jumps out and wants to cheer for them. Reading both POV drew me in more. Growing up with a Strong religious background, I understood Noah's POV, but wanted him to experience Rose's joy of life and carefree ways.
I am craving the next book already! My stomach was full of butterflies for Rose when the book ended, which left me wanting more and more!
Thanks to Netgalley and HarlequinTeen for this opportunity to review a great story!

Slide by Jill Hathaway
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
REVIEW: Vee Bell is certain of one irrefutable truth—her sister’s friend Sophie didn’t kill herself. She was murdered.
Vee knows this because she was there. Everyone believes Vee is narcoleptic, but she doesn’t actually fall asleep during these episodes: When she passes out, she slides into somebody else’s mind and experiences the world through that person’s eyes. She’s slid into her sister as she cheated on a math test, into a teacher sneaking a drink before class. She learned the worst about a supposed “friend” when she slid into her during a school dance. But nothing could have prepared Vee for what happens one October night when she slides into the mind of someone holding a bloody knife, standing over Sophie’s slashed body.
Vee desperately wishes she could share her secret, but who would believe her? It sounds so crazy that she can’t bring herself to tell her best friend, Rollins, let alone the police. Even if she could confide in Rollins, he has been acting off lately, more distant, especially now that she’s been spending more time with Zane.
Enmeshed in a terrifying web of secrets, lies, and danger and with no one to turn to, Vee must find a way to unmask the killer before he or she strikes again.
I won an ARC of this book and finally had a chance to read it. It was a quick read, but full of intensity.
I was quickly pulled into the story, and was stuck there. I had a hard time putting it down. I am a huge fan of anything that has to do with dreams and/or minds, it fascinates me, so this was right up my alley. I usually don't like murder mysteries, but since it included the "mind/dream" situation, I loved it.
The way Hathaway pulled so many characters into the running as the killer, had me guessing all the way through. Even though I thought I figured it out, the culprit still surprised me. She did a great job with bringing out the secondary characters adding more suspicion and doubt to the one who I thought was guilty.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 16. There were some sexual situations, and some bad language, but overall a great book.

Did you hear Crickets?
Wow, I didn't mean to leave my blog for so long! With my son graduating this week, taking a "girls" road trip to Vegas then on to Hollywood, California; I left everyone here in the dust, listening to crickets! Shame shame!
These were taken from Mtv rough cut
To make it up to those who follow me, I will share some great "On the set" interviews with Stephanie Meyer and the cast of "The Host".
I read this book a long time ago, so the storyline is a little vague, but I did enjoy it. I do remember it was a little confusing at times and very long. I don't think it was one of my favorites, but I am excited to see what the movie can bring.
The actors are not familiar to me, but they seem to fit the parts.

The Selection
The Selection by Kiera Cass
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Summary: For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
How could you NOT fall in love with this cover? I was drawn to it immediately. Gorgeous dress, the crown..... and then I read the summary! I was a sucker for the first Bachelor reality series, but then thought it was sorta lame. But this, this is a chance to be a real Princess! I was a goner. The little girl in me couldn't resist it.
This storyline was so clever! Almost a Cinderella, rags to riches story with a dystopian-type background. I say ALMOST Cinderella because America Singer (really didn't care for the name, by the way) didn't want to be a part of all this, didn't want the Prince, the attention, and all that came with it... well, at first.
Prince Maxon (sawooon!) Really was all that AND a bag of chips in my opinion. He was very direct and to the point, not playing games. He was the only one who out of all the characters seems to be truly trustworthy. America, on the other hand, seemed like the typical teenage girl...a little whiny, dramatic, and taking huge risks. I did love the way she was herself, very indifferent with the competition, and didn't kiss up to the Prince. Aspen on the other hand... never really liked him even from the beginning, seemed to be too male chauvinistic for my liking.
The only thing that was really missing from this book, was more detail on the rebel attacks. Maybe Cass is waiting for the next book to throw all that in, but I wished there had been more of a hint to each rebel group.
Bring on book number two! I am ready for more Maxon BTW..LOVED his name!
A clean and fun book, if I had a teen daughter I would let her read it.

It's May!
Every year, especially in May, I try to spread the word about 2 things.
1. Brain Tumors. My son Marcus, was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 15. Brain cancer is one of the cancer's that cannot be cured. When he was diagnosed (2006) with Anaplasatic Astrocytoma, stage 3 cancer, these were the odds we were given:
Even with complete removal of the tumor and a margin of brain tissue around it, with radiation and chemo, they told us "Expect the worst". They told us he only had 20% chance of surviving 5 YEARS! How can you tell your child they only have a tiny chance of surviving a few years? Marcus, only lived 2. When the cancer came back, it was like a BEAST! Took over his whole brain within weeks!
2. Childhood Cancer People assume when they donate money to a cancer charity that it helps all those with cancer. Not true! Because a child's cells are still changing and developing, not all chemo's can be used on them. We have to have separate research, testing, and studies for our precious children. The last few years, the American Cancer Society gave only 2% of it's funding into Pediatric research! Not enough! We need to spread the awareness that our children are dying and WE are the only ones who can help!
A fellow Mother, who lost her daughter to the same Brain Tumor as my son's, set up this site called the Wall of Courage. Once a year she creates these beautiful logos which come on many type of (gear) T-shirts, Hoodies, waterbottles, mouse pads, bags, etc. and sells them. All the proceeds go toward Pediatric Brain Tumor research. Here is one specifically in memory of my son, Marcus.

Or here is the 2012 Logo, with all the children's names in it, to support all children who suffer with this awful beast.
If you can, please help me pass on the awareness!
Thank you for listening!!

My Niece's first book!
I am thrilled to introduce LA Knight!
My Niece, but also a first time Indie Author!
My Niece, but also a first time Indie Author!
Summary: "Fetch the Crown of Black Glass from the Maze. Before day and night
balance you must free the Knave. Pay attention, Alyssa, before it's too
late."
That's the text Alyssa Carde gets on her first day at Pillar Preparatory Academy. New to the school for "teens with trouble adjusting," Alyssa just wants to get through her senior year without getting suspended (again).
But at Pillar, every student has to make a choice - Red or White. When Alyssa refuses to pick a side, and instead tries to search for the mysterious "Knave" from the mysterious messages someone known only as "the Smoke" keeps sending her, every choice she makes drags her and the haunted - and haunting - Jack Knightly deeper into the strange world of the witch queens of the Twilight Chessboard.
And both Alyssa and the Knave are running out of time.

And both Alyssa and the Knave are running out of time.
Fighting and action took off from the beginning of this book. I have to admit I was a little confused as why a young girl would have so many enemies, but that is what grabbed my attention and drew me into the storyline.
Alyssa's character was rough, cryptic, and raw. Most words that came out of her mouth were sarcastic, defensive and full of fire. Most of the book was written in her voice or point of view which had me giggling with her sardonic sense of humor.
Jack, well he is the monster trying not to let the monster take over. His heart is golden, but is trapped by a bond that has tortured him since childhood, literally. He fights for his freedom, which only Alyssa can free him.
One thing that I loved was the way the book went from Alyssa's point of view to Jack's. Even though I enjoyed Alyssa's character, I craved a break from her thoughts and welcomed Jack's. It gave it so much more dept to the storyline.
The storyline to this was so creative! Even though there were times where I felt a little lost, it all fell into place later.
This being LA Knight's first book, I see a lot of promise for such a young writer. With her creativity and writing skills, I can't wait to see what happens next!!!
~This book contain a lot of blood and violence.~
