Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Release Date: March 19, 2013

Summary (Goodreads):  Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy

Tessa Gray should be happy - aren't all brides happy?
Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.
A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa's heart, will do anything to save her.

WOW! Just WOW! I really don't know what to say about this except that it just floored me! I was so engrossed in this book that is was really difficult to put it down! There were so many shocking twists that left my mouth literally hanging open, with my hand over my mouth!

Let me say... THIS is the best book of the whole ShadowHunter world! I liked this series better than the Mortal Instruments, but this book took the cake of them all! Cassandra Clare is pure genius, I don't know how she was able to go from American modern English writing to Victorian English writing from one series to the next. Plus bringing in Characters, terms, and weapons back into the past was brilliant.

Once again, the characters both first and secondary continued to grab my heart. Even the cat, Church, was endearing in his own way. The details Clare brought to the pages were undeniably captivating.

Tessa, Tessa, Tessa.. I was a little disappointed by her easiness to "move on" in her love life. I was team Will in the first book, the Clockwork Angel, but by the second, The Clockwork Prince, I was a complete team Jem! Still am! I can't go into much more without giving away too much.

I know Cassandra Clare is working on another series in the Shadowhunter World and I imagine it will be just as great as these have been. I am also looking forward to the movie City of Bones!!
Here is the movie trailer if you haven't seen it already!
Enjoy!

Cool Cover Reveal!!

Sha-Bang! What a beautiful cover to the 3rd book of the Infernal Devices!
This is one of the books I have been awaiting and this gorgeous cover only adds to my ever growing anxiety!   I can't wait to see how it will end and how this series will link into the next series (The Mortal Instruments).

Cassandra Clare, YOU ROCK!

Soooooo HOT!

I, being a Cassandra Clare fan, was snooping around her website, reading other blogs about her books, etc.. and came across this WONDERFUL EXTRA to the Clockwork Prince.  I have to admit I am very picky on my romance scenes, I don't like raunchy, dirty scenes at all.  I like some passion without all the nasty terminology, details that go too far.... so THIS... This is one of the best scenes I have read in a long time.  Plus, for those of you who have read it and know what I am talking about, this extra is written from Jem's point of view... WOWEEE!!

Enjoy!!

Clockwork Prince

Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2)Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tessa continues to help the Shadow Hunters with their quest to find the Majester. In doing so, things heat up with Jem while trying to forget her feelings for Will. Will, on the other hand, finds the truth about the curse that has tortured him for years.

Tessa, does not come across as the snotty teenager as some other heroines do, but is sincerely torn and wanting to do the right thing. She is determined to find out who she is and have the same courage as her friends. She is surprised to find love, especially after being treated as horribly as Will treated her.

My expectations as a second book were far exceeded. Cassandra Clare brought in so much emotion from the characters, especially Jem's. Will's bad boy act is torn down to see the real tormented boy. Add in some surprising traitors, a few deaths and it becomes one of my favorite books!

I could not put this book down! I was up until 3 am trying to finish it, but my sleep deprived body won out. The next morning I picked it up and finished it before I got out of bed! LOVED IT!

The end of the book leaves so many surprises which leaves me wanting MORE MORE MORE!

I would rate this book a PG-16.  Things get pretty steamy!

Clockwork Angel

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1)Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What I just loved about this book is Cassandra's phenomenal story of the Shadowhunters placed back in time to the the late 1870's. I was very leary of the idea when it was first published, but I had heard so many good things about it, so I caved and read it. I am so glad I did.

I am not nearly an expert on the English language, nor have I read much of the old English classics like Pride and Prejudice, but I completely enjoyed the old way of speaking. Everyone calling each other by "miss or Mr.", the clothes they wear, even the way one jokes with another. All this while fighting demons, vampires, and the likes. It was a nice change.
This is a prequel series to Cassandra Clare's series of "The Mortal Instruments". I am not a huge fan of prequels myself, but the Infernal Devices #1 begins with a few hints and explanations to the first series. So much detail has been thought out to bring these series together.
Tessa, an orphan, is sent from New York, to meet up with her brother in London after their Aunt, who raised them, dies. She isn't met by her brother at the docks in London, but two women who claim to know him well. Tessa soon learns the world isn't as she always believed it to be, monsters do exist and she is one of them. She is saved by Shadowhunters from the women who tortured her into learning her new abilities. Will, the tall dark and extremely handsome man is the one who saves her. His moodiness, boldness and out right hurtful comments baffle tessa. The Shadow hunters take Tessa in and offer to help find her brother. Tessa is able to help her new friends find those who are trying to kill off the Nephilim race, while searching for her brother with her new ability.
I am looking forward to the next book, Clockwork Prince, as Will, Tessa and Jem continue with the story. I can't wait to see how both series completely come together.
